Both names describe surgery that removes excess skin and reshapes the upper arm. It can be combined with liposuction when there is also localized fat.

</details>
<details>

How do I choose a brachioplasty surgeon in Madrid?

There is no official medical ranking. Look for a specialist in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery with Spanish MIR training, demonstrable experience, a suitable hospital, and a transparent explanation of scars and limitations. Dr. Jorge Aso currently performs more than twenty arm lifts a year and has performed over two hundred.

</details>
<details>

Can I have a scar-free arm lift?

Not when there is clear excess skin: removing it requires a scar. Liposuction or BodyTite may improve selected cases with good elasticity or limited laxity, but do not replace skin removal when there is hanging skin.

</details>
<details>

Where is the scar, and does it always reach the elbow?

It may be limited to the armpit or follow a medial or posterior line. Extension toward the elbow depends on excess skin there. Position and length are planned with the patient; shortening it too much may leave a residual fold.

</details>
<details>

Does BodyTite really tighten the arms?

It may provide contraction in selected patients, and some studies report measurable changes, but the effect varies. In our practice, we describe it as an aid with usually subtle results, not a guarantee or a universal substitute for an arm lift.

</details>
<details>

Is surgery performed under general anesthesia, and do I stay in hospital?

We usually perform it under general anesthesia at Hospital Universitario HLA Moncloa. Most procedures are day surgery with same-day discharge; an inpatient stay is mainly reserved for combined procedures or a specific clinical indication.

</details>
<details>

How long does recovery take?

A limited procedure may allow office work in three to five days. After longitudinal skin removal, the usual range is seven to fourteen days. Driving usually waits ten to fourteen days, and strength training or swimming at least four to six weeks, always subject to follow-up clearance.

</details>
<details>

Are drains used?

We try to avoid them in the great majority of cases, but do not promise their absence. Circumstances during or after surgery may make them advisable.

</details>
<details>

What requirements apply before surgery?

We ask for stable weight for three months, complete smoking cessation for one month before and one month after surgery, and an individual assessment. We do not usually recommend this surgery with a BMI above 30 and carefully assess any history of thrombosis, venous, or lymphatic problems.

</details>
<details>

How much does brachioplasty cost?

In our practice, skin removal alone is around €5,500, with liposuction it is usually €6,000 to €7,000, and with BodyTite it starts at approximately €8,500.
