The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/medical-devices\/aesthetic-cosmetic-devices\/non-invasive-body-contouring-technologies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FDA also describes it as a fat-reduction technology<\/a>, not a skin-removal procedure or treatment for excess skin.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<article>\n<h3>Mesotherapy and skin care<\/h3>\n<p>A cream or superficial injection may improve hydration or skin appearance, but does not play a role equivalent to liposuction, BodyTite, or skin excision in our approach to arm contouring.<\/p>\n<\/article><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"aso-brazos__feature\" id=\"bodytite\" aria-labelledby=\"bodytite-titulo\">\n<div class=\"aso-brazos__feature-copy\">\n      <span class=\"aso-brazos__label\">Radiofrequency-assisted treatment<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"bodytite-titulo\">BodyTite: when it may avoid or shorten a scar<\/h2>\n<p>BodyTite delivers controlled bipolar radiofrequency between an internal cannula and an external electrode. In a well-selected patient, it may make the difference between avoiding skin excision or keeping the scar horizontal within the armpit instead of extending it vertically toward the elbow. This is a clinical possibility, not a guarantee.<\/p>\n<p>The literature includes prospective studies and a favorable randomized comparison of radiofrequency-assisted arm contouring. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/arm-lift\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Society of Plastic Surgeons<\/a> explains that the shape and length of the incision depend on the amount and location of skin that needs removing.<\/p>\n<div class=\"aso-brazos__surgery-grid\">\n<article><span>A limited scar<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>A horizontal armpit scar<\/h3>\n<p>This is considered when the excess is concentrated near the armpit. A <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34936607\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">meta-analysis of 29 observational studies and 1,578 patients<\/a> found that abnormal scarring, recurrent sagging, and wound separation were among the more frequently reported events. Pooled figures help inform patients but do not predict individual risk.<\/p>\n<p>BodyTite and liposuction also carry risks, including thermal burns, seroma, fibrosis, sensory changes, asymmetry, and irregularities.
