Jawline contouring in Madrid, Spain
We define the jaw angle and jawline with a plan tailored to your anatomy. We do not copy a standard shape or turn your face into someone else’s.
Belotero or Radiesse · 1.5–5 cc · A session of around 30 minutes
Definition does not mean adding unlimited volume
What is jawline contouring with hyaluronic acid?
This medical aesthetic treatment places filler at selected points in the lower third of the face to make the jaw angle, body, or jawline more defined.
The goal is not an identical jawline for every face. We assess the relationship between the cheekbones, jawline, chin, neck, and soft tissues to identify where a small change may improve proportions and where more product would simply add weight or width.
Dr. Jorge Aso uses products from the Belotero hyaluronic acid range or Radiesse calcium hydroxylapatite. They are not the same material: selection depends on anatomy, injection plane, the support needed, and the safety strategy.

The lower face is planned as a whole
Jaw angle, jawline, prejowl, and chin are different areas
One face may lack definition at the back of the jaw; another may have a break in the contour beside a jowl or near the chin. Treatment depends on where the continuity is interrupted.
- 01
Jaw angle
Treatment may reinforce the transition between the jaw ramus and neck when the anatomy allows a balanced definition.
- 02
Jawline and mandibular body
The aim is continuity from the angle forward, without indiscriminately widening the entire border.
- 03
Prejowl
A small hollow in front of the marionette line can interrupt the contour. Assessment must distinguish loss of support from skin laxity.
- 04
Chin
Chin projection affects the profile and how the jawline is perceived. It is treated only when this improves balance, and is quoted separately.
Two product families, different decisions
Belotero or Radiesse for jawline definition
The brand does not replace assessment. We choose the material, quantity, and depth according to the goals for each area.
| Aspect | Belotero (Merz) | Radiesse (Merz) |
|---|---|---|
| Material | A range of hyaluronic acid fillers. | Calcium hydroxylapatite in a carrier gel. |
| Purpose | The specific product is selected to provide structure or blend the contour, depending on the area. | It may provide immediate support and a progressive biostimulatory effect when indicated. |
| Injection planes | Dr. Aso usually uses a cannula, adapting a deep, supraperiosteal, or superficial plane to the area and product. | |
| Reversibility | Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with hyaluronidase when medically indicated. | It is not dissolved by hyaluronidase. Prevention and the response to a complication are product-specific. |
Official Merz information identifies Belotero as a hyaluronic acid range and Radiesse as a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable implant. [1] [2]
Proportions, not trends
We do not aim for the same jawline in everyone
In our practice, the usual amount is between 1.5 and 5 cc. More product does not guarantee a better result: first we assess whether the concern involves structure, fat, laxity, muscle, or a combination.
Individual goals
Jawline contouring for women and men: what changes?
There is no mandatory “feminine” or “masculine” jawline. Some patients want a stronger angle, others a more refined transition to the neck, and others simply want to address asymmetry.
Some seek continuity and definition without excessive width. The relationship with the chin and facial outline is often more important than emphasizing every part of the border.
Some men want a stronger angle or a more structured appearance. A wide jaw is not always proportionate: this depends on the cheekbones, chin, neck, and personal goals.
Perfect symmetry does not exist. The plan aims to balance meaningful differences while preserving individual features, rather than removing every variation between the two sides.
From examination to follow-up
How is jawline contouring performed?
It is an outpatient procedure. The session usually takes around 30 minutes, although assessment and preparation are also part of the clinical appointment.
- 01
Complete facial assessment
We examine front, side, and three-quarter views, the bite, chin projection, neck, soft tissues, and medical history. We also review medication, previous treatments, and upcoming dental procedures.
- 02
Planning and product selection
We mark areas where treatment may improve contour continuity. We select Belotero or Radiesse, the amount needed, and whether to treat the angle, jawline, prejowl, or a combination.
- 03
Antisepsis, anesthetic cream, and cannula
After cleaning and antisepsis, we apply anesthetic cream. Dr. Aso usually uses a cannula and may combine deep, supraperiosteal, or superficial planes according to the anatomy and material.
- 04
Assessment and aftercare instructions
We check symmetry, contour, and the initial response. The appearance that day includes swelling; a more reliable assessment is made once the tissues have settled.
Progress over time, not a single photograph
Jawline contouring: before and after treatment
The contour may look more defined immediately, but this is not yet the settled result.
During the first days, swelling, tenderness, small bruises, or a slight difference between the sides may occur. The product and tissues continue to settle over the following weeks.
Follow-up helps distinguish swelling from asymmetry that may need correction. A refinement can be considered when appropriate; it is not decided automatically on the treatment day.
Definition is visible, with possible initial swelling.
The usual time to assess integration and symmetry.
Varies with product, amount, area, and individual response.
The first days matter
Aftercare following jawline contouring
Most people resume quiet everyday activities on the same day. Specific recommendations are tailored to the product used and your progress.
- Do not massage or press the area unless your doctor specifically tells you to.
- For the recommended period, avoid strenuous exercise, intense heat, and alcohol, as these may increase swelling or bruising.
- Do not rest helmets, bands, straps, or devices against the newly treated jawline.
- If you have a cleaning, extraction, implant, or another dental procedureplanned, tell us beforehand so the dates can be coordinated.
- Do not take anti-inflammatory drugs, anticoagulants, or supplements on your own to “prevent” bruising. Do not stop prescribed medication without speaking to its prescriber.
Assess before adding filler
What jawline filler cannot correct on its own
Sometimes poor jawline definition has a cause that cannot be addressed by adding volume. Recognizing it helps avoid unnecessary treatment and a heavy appearance.
Fat beneath the chin
Filler may improve proportions, but does not remove submental fat. When fat is the main concern, specific options should be assessed.
Significant skin laxity
Filling a jawline covered by excess skin can add volume without restoring definition. The degree of laxity changes the treatment recommendation.
Prominent masseter muscles
If width comes from the masseter muscle, adding filler at the angle may not be appropriate. The muscle and bite need examination.
Limited chin projection
This can affect profile balance even when the jaw angle is well defined. The chin is assessed as a separate treatment and quoted separately.
Suitability and limitations
Who may be suitable for jawline contouring?
It may suit adults who want to define the jaw angle or jawline, address an interruption in the contour, or balance asymmetry, and understand that results are temporary.
The amount is decided after examining the face. Treating the chin or every area in a single session is not essential.
Medical information to support your decision
Risks and warning signs
Swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising are common and usually temporary. Asymmetry, irregularities, nodules, infection, and early or delayed inflammatory reactions may also occur.
The most important complication, although uncommon, is filler entering a blood vessel. This can compromise the skin and, very rarely in facial treatment, cause visual or neurological problems. Variations in the jawline’s vascular anatomy require careful technique and anatomical knowledge. [3] [4]
The clinic has medicinal hyaluronidase and an immediate-response protocol for hyaluronic acid complications, in line with the recommendation of Spain’s medicines agency, AEMPS. [5] Radiesse is not dissolved by hyaluronidase, so documenting the product used is essential.
A quote based on product and amount
How much does jawline contouring in Madrid cost?
In our practice, the indicative price is between 500 and 1,200 EUR. The total amount usually ranges from 1.5 to 5 cc, but Belotero and Radiesse differ in packaging and characteristics.
The quote depends on the product, the number of vials or syringes, and the areas reasonably suited to treatment. If chin projection is also indicated, it is quoted separately.

Who will assess your face
Suitability matters more than the number of vials
Jawline contouring may appear straightforward, but it requires assessment of the whole face, knowledge of vascular anatomy, and a decision about which product and plane suit each point.
Dr. Jorge Aso personally performs the assessment and treatment. The aim is definition where treatment is appropriate, preserving the patient’s identity and explaining when filler is not the right solution.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about jawline contouring
What is jawline contouring?
This medical aesthetic treatment places filler at selected points of the jaw angle, body, or jawline to improve continuity and definition in the lower face. Planning considers the chin, neck, and soft tissues; it does not create an identical jawline for every person.
Which products does Dr. Aso use for jawline contouring?
In our practice, we use Belotero, a Merz hyaluronic acid filler range, or Radiesse, a Merz calcium hydroxylapatite product. Selection depends on anatomy, injection plane, and the type of support needed.
How many vials or cc are needed?
The total amount usually ranges from 1.5 to 5 cc. Packaging and products do not all contain the same volume, so assessment determines the product, areas, and amount before a quote is prepared.
Does jawline contouring hurt?
We apply topical anesthetic cream and usually use a cannula. You may feel pressure, a pinprick, or discomfort, followed by tenderness or a bruised feeling. We do not describe it as completely painless.
When will I see the result?
A change is visible immediately, although swelling and small bruises may also be present. The settled result and symmetry are usually assessed between 2 and 4 weeks.
How long does jawline contouring last?
As a guide, effects usually last between 12 and 18 months. This varies with the product, amount, treated area, and individual response; it is not a guaranteed duration.
Is jawline contouring the same for women and men?
No. Some women seek continuity without excessive width and some men want a stronger angle, but these are not fixed rules. Planning starts with each person’s proportions and goals.
Does jawline contouring remove a double chin?
It does not, on its own, remove submental fat, correct significant skin laxity, or treat enlarged masseter muscles. It may improve proportions in selected cases, but the reason for poor definition must first be identified.
Is the treatment reversible?
Belotero hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with hyaluronidase when medically indicated. Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite and is not dissolved by hyaluronidase; complication prevention and treatment require a product-specific protocol.
What is the price of jawline contouring in Madrid?
In our practice, the indicative price is 500 to 1,200 EUR, depending on the product, number of vials or syringes, and treated areas. Chin treatment is quoted separately.
When should I contact the clinic urgently after treatment?
Contact us immediately for severe or increasing pain, pale or purple skin, cold skin, fever, or increasing redness. Visual or neurological symptoms also require emergency medical care.
