In this gallery, you can see real cases of breast reduction before and after performed by Dr. Jorge Aso. The images show how breast volume, shape, areola position and proportions can change after breast reduction or reduction mammoplasty.
What do these breast reduction photos show?
The photos allow you to assess the reduction in breast volume, breast lift, reshaping and improvement in body proportions.
Each result depends on the starting anatomy, skin quality, degree of sagging, volume removed and how the scars heal.
How to interpret breast reduction before and after photos
The images are illustrative examples of real patients, rather than an exact prediction of another patient's result.
When reviewing cases, look for patients with a similar build, similar starting volume and a comparable degree of sagging.
Breast reduction, lift and scars
In most cases, breast reduction also lifts the breasts and repositions the areola in a more proportionate position.
Surgery leaves scars, usually around the areola, vertically and, in some cases, in the breast fold. Their visibility generally improves gradually over the following months.

Breast reduction without implants: real results
Breast reduction does more than remove volume. It also reshapes and lifts the breast, raises the nipple to a more balanced position, and tightens the skin to improve the overall breast shape. For patients with very large breasts, this may improve comfort, posture, everyday activity, and clothing choices.
Our technique removes excess tissue, particularly tissue that sits lower and adds weight, while preserving better-positioned breast tissue to create a more balanced shape. The aim is a natural-looking result that is neither flat nor excessively reduced and is suited to each patient’s body proportions.
Inverted-T scars and scar care
For most substantial breast reductions, an inverted-T scar allows precise management of excess skin and the new breast position. This scar combines an incision around the areola, a vertical incision, and a horizontal incision in the fold beneath the breast.
To support scar healing, we use barbed sutures and intraoperative laser treatment as part of our surgical protocol. Even so, the final appearance depends on the patient, individual healing, and aftercare. This is why postoperative follow-up is an important part of treatment.
Ultra-rapid recovery approach
The breast reduction cases in this gallery are planned using an ultra-rapid recovery approach, without drains or dressings when the patient’s clinical circumstances allow. This approach aims to reduce avoidable discomfort, support early mobility, and make recovery more manageable.
Benefits of breast reduction
- Less breast weight and greater everyday comfort.
- Relief of back, neck, or shoulder pain associated with excessive breast weight.
- Less irritation or discomfort in the fold beneath the breast.
- Improved body proportions and breast position.
- Greater confidence when dressing, exercising, or taking part in everyday activities.
Breast reduction before-and-after photos
Before-and-after photographs help illustrate the changes breast reduction may achieve: less volume, a higher breast position, improved symmetry, and more balanced proportions. Every case is different. These photographs show real examples of outcomes, not a promise that your result will be identical.
Frequently asked questions about breast reduction
Is breast reduction always performed without implants?
Not always, but the current cases in this gallery show breast reductions without implants. In selected cases, adding implants may be considered, although this is not usual when the main goal is to reduce volume and weight.
Where will the scars be?
In these cases, the scar pattern is an inverted T, also known as an anchor. It includes an incision around the areola, a vertical incision, and an incision in the fold beneath the breast.
When will the final result be visible?
Changes are apparent within the first few weeks, although breast shape and scars continue to evolve over several months. The final result depends on swelling, healing, and each patient’s individual characteristics.
Can breast reduction improve back pain?
For many patients, reducing breast weight helps relieve back, neck, and shoulder discomfort. Whether surgery is appropriate must always be assessed individually during a consultation.
